After his last year release, the detective thriller Thupparivalan, action hero Vishal is back on screen, with the cyber thriller Irumbuthirai. Directed by debutant PS Mithran, the movie has Vishal pitted against none other than his Guru Action King Arjun who plays the principal antagonist. and also has the gorgeous Samantha in a pivotal role. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive Irumbuthirai FDFS Review.

Kathirvan(Vishal), an Indian Army Major, who has serious anger management issues, is pushed to a situation where he has to take a loan from a bank with the help of fake documents. On the other end, there's White Devil (Arjun), an evil mastermind who masters all technicalities to access and misuse the data of public, to earn lots in technology-supported shortcuts. When Kathiravan himself loses all the money he had borrowed, all the doors lead to the mystery man, the master criminal White Devil, and now its Kathiravan Vs White Devil. Whether Kathiravan succeeded in his mission to hunt White Devil or did Devil destroy Kathiravan's plans is what the gripping Irumbuthirai is all about.

For once. Vishal has been given a role that suits him like a T, and the tall actor performs very well. as the army officer lacking anger control. and in the sequences where he has to express his social anger. and has to speak hardhitting dialogues, Vishal excels sans overacting. Coming on par with him is Action King Arjun with his mighty persona, and as the evil White Devil who has a different and popular identity for the outside world, while he lives the life of a powerful , intelligent and deadly criminal inside, he impresses. Samantha gets to play a character that helps the proceedings rather than being a typical eye candy, and the gorgeous actress just eases through the role with her act. Veteran Delhi Ganesh offers an interesting supporting performance, and his scenes with Vishal are a treat to watch. The rest of cast is just adequate.

Yuvan Shankar Raja delivers an impressive BGM for Irumbuthirai, that happens to be his 125th film, and of his songs, Azhage, Mudhal Murai are appealing.  Cinematography by George C Williams is top notch as he has captured the beautiful visuals of the songs, as well as the action-packed episodes. Ruben's editing could have been taut, as several sequences are dragged. Irumbuthirai, bankrolled by actor Vishal himself, has struck screens today and directed by debutant PS Mithran ,costars Action King Arjun and Samantha. The director has proved himself to be a talented maker, as he has cleverly weaved a concept based screenplay that , at an outset will be seen definitely as something against the government.

However, Mithran has made the data theft concept as simple as possible, and with the character White Devil played by Arjun establishing his motive and making powerful moves, the movie shines with perfect casting as well. Vishal is his usual self, and with his anger getting unleashed at the right points of the screenplay, the movie is tightly packed. With a romantic track that doesn't mar the pace of the movie and the sequences between Vishal and Delhi Ganesh, Vishal and Arjun confrontation episodes are enjoyable. The second half moves at an even better pace, as Kathiravan's hunt for the white devil catches fire, and the action-packed thriller, keeps you engaged throughout. With catchy Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, razor-sharp dialogues, and cinematography by George C Williams capturing the stunning visuals, Irumbuthirai is technically strong as well. Team Irumbuthirai must be applauded for delivering this movie that serves to be an alarm for people to ensure data safety and protect themselves, from the demons of the digital era. All said, Irumbuthirai is a sure shot hit material that deserves a watch.

Vishal,Samantha Akkineni,P.S. Mithran,Yuvan Shankar RajaAn interesting cat and mouse game with an essential and relevant message for the society.
