Megastar Chiranjeevi, the number one hero of Tollywood, celebrates his birthday today. Even at 63, the actor is on top, despite a break of more than a decade, he made  a comeback to films after his political stint with his Praja  Rajyam party and Congress, and gave a stunning comeback flick in the form of his milestone 150th movie Khaidi No 150, which turned out to be a blockbuster. Currently, the ever handsome and energetic hero is acting in his dream project, the historical movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, the biopic of the earliest freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.



The teaser of Sye Raa released yesterday has met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Here are some interesting facts on the Megastar: Megastar Chiranjeevi's original name is Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, and he had changed his name as suggested by his mother, a Hanuman devotee, to Chiranjeevi, meaning the one who lives forever. Though the first movie he acted was Punadhirallu, the first to release was the 1978 flick Pranam Khareedu.



His first movie Punadhirallu released after 6 of his movies released. Chiru was the highest paid actor of 90s, and when he was charging a whopping 1.25 crore per movie, The Week magazine had called him Bigger than Bachchan.



Chiru was supposed to make his Hollywood debut with the movie Return of the Thief of Baghdad, but the project planned in 1999 was shelved. He was also the first actor from south India to receive an invite for Academy Awards(1987). He had received the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Andhra University.
