In such a situation a case has been filed against AR Murugadoss and Vijay by advocate Thamizh Vendhan at the Chennai commissioner office. He had said that since smoking habits and tobacco production and selling is on a high in the country, there is a ban against the promotion of these items in TV as well as in films, but despite these, actors are promoting and encouraging such habits.
In such a situation Vijay smoking on screen might impact his fans who might resort to smoking and hence director AR Murugadoss and Vijay must together take a decision to chop off smoking sequences in Sarkar, said the advocate. He also said that strict action must be taken against such socially irresponsible directors and actors.
