A huge tragedy took place in Namakkal, as parents who took Selfie near Cauvery lost control of their kid, as their 4 years old kid fell into the river. Due to the heavy rainfall in Cauvery catchment areas, the water flow into Mettur dam had exceeded usual levels. Due to this 2 lakhs cubic feet of water had been opened from the Mettur dam.
Due to this, the Cauvery River has been flooded with excess water from the dam, and people around the Cauvery river area have been witnessing the flow of water with excitement. In this situation, in Namakkal district's Mohanur, a couple had taken a Selfie from vangal bridge. When the couple was trying to take the Selfie, their 4 year old son held in their hand got slipped out of their hands, and fell into the river.
As the couple clicked the Selfie
from the centre point of the river, the kid fell into the center of the river
and was washed away. Fire service men are in an intense search mission to find
the missing child. This incident of a young child losing his life due his
parent's Selfie craze has left the whole locality in shock.
