Superintendent of Police said to the press, "Today the results for Karnataka Urban Local Body Elections were announced and when Congress candidate won the election, his supporters started a victory rally. Some one within the crowd sprayed some liquid and a few felt allergic and were taken to the hospital.

The doctors who treated said that the liquid is a low-intensity acid like a bathroom cleaner and so there are no life threats. However, 10 people have suffered minor injuries. So far we have not arrested anybody and no one has lodged any complaint too."
