Relief materials had been collected at the premises of the supreme court of India, and justice Joseph Kurien actively participating in helping packing and collecting of relief materials had come as a surprise and inspiration for others in the premises. Kerala, God's own country as people call it, had been hit by an unprecedented disaster after being impacted by never before seen huge rainfall in the past 100 years.

This has already lead to many losing their lives and properties, with an estimated loss of around 19512 crores. Many people have been stranded and are forced to wait for the army helicopters for their next meal. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been offering all kinds of support and taking necessary actions to help people and had also requested people from other states to help the state, following which people from every state and celebrities, other state governments have been contributing as much as they can for the cause.

Similarly in Delhi also there was a relief material collection drive and many lawyers, advocates were actively involved in a collection of relief materials, and were coordinating with NGOs for collection and packaging of relief materials and sending them to Kerala. 7 trucks with relief materials like milk, biscuits, blankets, sanitary napkins, water bottles, Rice, medicines, were collected at the supreme court premises.

Justice Kurien Joseph came as the first person, and he started labeling and packaging the relief materials in boxes and this initiative of him to coordinate and actively involve in the noble cause inspired others in the supreme court premises to get involved in packaging and labeling of boxes. It must be noted that Kurien Joseph belongs to Kaladi in Kerala.
